Halal Certification for Export to the UAE
UAE market access can require compliance with the UAE Halal system and, for regulated categories, certification through bodies recognised or registered under the applicable UAE framework.
UAE Halal System
The UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) publishes information on the UAE Halal system, relevant standards and registered Halal certification bodies. Exporters should check the current requirements for their product category and the status of the certification body they intend to use.

Common UAE Compliance Questions
- Does the product category require Halal certification?
- Is the intended certifier currently registered or accepted for the relevant scope?
- Do UAE product, labelling or registration rules impose additional requirements?
- Does the buyer require a specific certificate, mark or supporting document?
What Exporters Should Prepare
- Target country and buyer requirement
- Product list and product category
- Manufacturing location and facility details
- Ingredient / raw-material and supplier information
- Existing licences, quality-system documents and product registrations where relevant
- Current Halal certificates, if any
Recognition Must Be Checked Before Shipment
Halal recognition rules can change and may differ by product category. Before relying on any certificate for regulatory import clearance, confirm the latest list or requirement published by the relevant destination authority.
