Certification may be relevant to manufacturers of snacks, bakery products, beverages, dairy products, confectionery, sauces, ready-to-eat foods, frozen foods, spices, rice, processed foods and other packaged products.

Key Areas Reviewed During Food Halal Certification

  • Flavours, emulsifiers, enzymes and processing aids
  • Supplier declarations and supporting certificates
  • Cleaning chemicals and production-contact materials
  • Segregation and contamination controls
  • Storage, handling, packaging and labelling
  • Traceability and change-control procedures

How the Certification Process Works

  1. Initial enquiry and scope review: We understand your products, facility, process, target markets and certification objective.
  2. Document review: Ingredients, raw materials, supplier declarations, process flow, labels and supporting records are reviewed.
  3. Audit or assessment: Where applicable, the manufacturing or service location is assessed against the relevant Halal requirements.
  4. Corrective actions: Any gaps identified during review or audit are addressed before certification.
  5. Certification decision: Certification is issued only after the applicable review and decision requirements are completed.
  6. Ongoing compliance: Renewal, surveillance or change-control requirements are handled according to the applicable certification scheme and scope.

Typical Documents Required

  • Company registration and facility details
  • Product list and intended certification scope
  • Ingredient / raw-material list and supplier information
  • Manufacturing or process-flow details
  • Product labels, packaging and brand information
  • Relevant licences, test reports and quality-system documents where applicable
  • Target export market and buyer requirements, if the certification is for export

The exact document list depends on the product category, process and destination market.

Why Businesses Work With Al-Qalb

Al-Qalb Global Halal Certification Private Limited supports manufacturers, exporters and businesses with a structured Halal certification process focused on documented compliance, traceability and practical market requirements.

For export cases, acceptance can depend on the importing country, product category and the recognition rules of the destination authority. We therefore recommend confirming the current destination-market requirement before relying on any certificate for regulatory market access.

Frequently Asked Questions

They can. Product-contact materials, adhesives, coatings or processing aids may need review depending on the product and scheme.

Can contract manufacturers be certified?

Yes, subject to the manufacturing site’s controls, documentation and scope.

What happens when an ingredient changes?
